Apart from events organized by the Atlantic Council, Burisma Group held a number of meetings with US officials
The International Energy Group Burisma took part in a number of high-profile events organized by the Atlantic Council in New York (USA). The Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center held a special panel on Ukraine called “Ukraine Strategy Council”. This is the largest US event on Ukraine that brings together friends of the country. The Director of the Atlantic Council’s Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center and US Ambassador to Ukraine (2003-2006) John Herbst and the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze addressed participants with welcoming remarks. The panel also attended the executive vice president of the Atlantic Council Damon Wilson and the Adviser to the Board of Directors at Burisma Group Vadym Pozharskyi.

“It is important that the challenges that our country is facing today, especially in terms of its national energy security, get global recognition and involvement. I am proud that Ukraine has demonstrated to other countries that energy independence is a reality. We at Burisma Group could not be more thrilled to get acknowledged again as Ukraine’s leading gas producer. At the same time, the country still needs investment to increase domestic production of natural gas. And our goal here is to share with foreign investors the objective picture of what is happening in the country”, says the Adviser to the Board of Directors at Burisma Group Vadym Pozharskyi.
Apart from events organized by the Atlantic Council, Burisma Group held a number of meetings with US officials. In particular, the Group met with the US Department of State’s special representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker, the Deputy Secretary of State for Global Affairs (2001-2009), the former Undersecretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs under George W. Bush Paula Dobriansky and the former Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and US Ambassador to Poland Daniel Fried. The parties discussed the need for further reform in the energy sector and the implementation of energy independence strategy.

In addition, Burisma Group took part in the Global Citizen Awards 2018, world’s largest political award ceremony. For the 9th year in a row, the Atlantic Council honored the individuals, who have made exceptional and distinctive contributions to strengthening the transatlantic relationship. This year, the Atlantic Council awarded the President of Argentina Mauricio Macri, the Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg and the US based Turkish-Kurdish businessman, investor, philanthropist the founder of Chobani Hamdi Ulukaya. The event held in New York on September 24 at Cipriani Wall Street, gathered more than 500 guests, including top US state officials, businesspeople and representatives of civil society.
“This is above all a recognition of Ukrainian business and its increasing influence when it comes to innovation. The Global Citizen Awards presents a great opportunity for us to share opportunities and conditions that we offer”, says Vadym Pozharskyi.
