Gas producers remain biggest contributors to the Kharkov region. According to the State Fiscal Service periodical “VESTNIK”, in 2017, eight out of 10 top taxpayers in the Kharkov region are companies that operate in the oil & gas industry. Among them are “Ukrgazvydobuvannya”, Burisma Group, “Ukrnefteburenie”, “Ukrgazvydobutok”.
The largest oil & gas producers in the Kharkiv region paid to the regional budget 45% of all taxes. Taking into account that all taxes from the region to the state budget amounted to UAH 25.9 billion, and to local budgets – UAH 11.57 billion, TOP 10 oil & gas producers paid circa UAH 17.1 billion. According to the Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Yulia Svitlychna, oil & gas industry will remain the biggest contributor to the region for a long time.
Today, “Ukrgazvydobuvannya” is the region’s largest taxpayer. In 2017, the company paid to the budget UAH 14.5 billion, which is 20% more than in 2016. Analysts agree that in 2018 “Ukrgazvydobuvannya” will be the largest taxpayer .
A close second is the Energy-Service Company “ESCO-PIVNICH” that belongs to the International Energy Group Burisma. In 2017, the company paid to the budget UAH 1.1 billion, which is UAH 66 million more than last year.
With UAH 818 million, the third place belongs to the “Ukrnefteburenie”. Since 2016 this amount has doubled.
“Ukrgazvydobutok” that does a lot of charity work paid UAH 220 million to the budget of the country and the region. This puts it fourth among Kharkiv’s largest taxpayers.
Altogether oil & gas producing companies paid to the budget UAH 16.9 billion, which makes up 98% of all tax payments made by the region’s largest enterprises.
As stated by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, Kharkiv region is the sixth in the country in terms of gross regional product, and the seventh – in terms of personal income.
